La Chambre Saint-Nazaire est un artist-run-space indépendant et une association loi 1901. Cet espace de production et de diffusion initié par Hélène Benzacar, est implanté 17 rue du Port à Saint-Nazaire, face à l’écluse.
À proximité de l’estuaire de la Loire et du paysage industriel, La Chambre est pensée comme un lieu d’expérimentation artistique au contact des flux et des transformations du territoire. C’est aussi une vitrine, au rez-de-chaussée du building, que l’on regarde de l’extérieur et qui permet une rencontre directe entre les habitant.e.s de la ville et l’artiste au travail. « La Résidence de Recherche Photographie et Écriture » met La Chambre à la disposition d’un.e artiste sur une durée d’un mois environ, une fois par an.

Near the Loire Estuary and the industrial landscape, La Chambre is conceived as a space for artistic experimentation in close contact with the flows and environmental transformations of the region. On the ground floor, the display window visible from the outside allows for a direct encounter between the city’s residents and the artist at work. Each year, the « Photography and Writing Research Residency » hosts an artist for a period of approximately one month.
